The Sharks won a wild one in Long Beach Sunday afternoon, battling back from as many as 11 points down in the second half to force overtime thanks to a three from Sharks Rookie Ced McGinnis with 5 seconds left in the game. In overtime, the Sharks’ athleticism and hard-nosed defense proved to be too much for the Waves, as the Sharks took an early 5 point lead to start the extra period before holding on for an exciting 120-114 win.

The Sharks were paced by Chiddy Golden and John Rich, who each scored 20 points in their first game for San Diego. Ced McGinnis, Aarron Whitman, and Deion Davis provided a huge spark off the bench, combining for 41 points while helping the Sharks jump start their rally in the fourth quarter.

“Our energy and effort were incredible,” Coach Brandon Cheeks said. “We have things to work on this week in practice, but this team has a lot of potential.”
