The Sharks continued their 3-week stretch of road games with a pair of wins over the West Coast Breeze and Bakersfield Majestics last week. After a slow start against the Breeze, the Sharks rallied to pull away down the stretch, thanks in part to strong efforts from Brandon “Body Bag” Moss and John Rich. The Sharks won 120-107 in a complete team effort.
The Sharks extended their 3-game winning streak with an exciting win in Bakersfield, during which the Sharks almost led wire to wire before closing out the game for a nail-biting 120-118 win. Brandon “Body Bag” Moss poured in 34 points and 19 rebounds, with John Rich, Deion Davis, Brandon Adams, Steve Garrett, and Ced McGinnis all in double figures for a well-balanced offensive clinic from the Sharks on the road.
The win helped the Sharks climb back into 4th place in the West, and team morale is high as the Sharks prepare for an upcoming road game against the South Bay Flash this Sunday in Los Angeles.
The Sharks will need to take care of business in order to secure home court advantage for the playoffs in the coming weeks. Head Coach Brandon Cheeks said, “We can’t wait to get back in front of our home fans at the end of this month, but we’re looking forward to finishing out this road trip on a high note first. The guys’ execution is continuing to improve and I’m really happy with how the guys are competing, both in practice and in games.”
With Friday night’s home tilt against Long Beach postponed, the Sharks head to South Bay on Sunday, April 23rd and to Long Beach on April 28th before finally returning home to San Diego on Sunday, April 30th against the South Bay Flash.
